Settlement/remittance occurs when the money that's due to you from transactions gets paid into your bank account. Before it gets to your bank account, bank transfer charges, WorldPay's transaction charges, and refunds Chargebacks below) are deducted from this money.
The money from transactions is usually settled to WorldDirect customers every week, four weeks in arrears. The remittance period for BankDirect customers varies from customer to customer, according to what has been agreed with your bank.
The charge per remittance, provided the remittance currency is the Euro (€) and the bank account is located in the Republic of Ireland, is €4.50.
Remittance to a bank account located outside the Republic of Ireland is charged at €15 per remittance, if that remittance is not in the local currency of the country in which the bank account is held. For information on cross-border settlement in any currency that is not your country's local currency, see Cross-border Settlement Charges.
The minimum amount that can be settled is €170. For a list of minimum remittance amounts in local currencies, see Cross-border Settlement Charges.

A chargeback occurs when the bank that issued the debit or credit card to a person who bought goods from your business, reverses the transaction, even though it had previously been cleared.
A chargeback can happen at any time, sometimes months after the transaction took place, and for a number of reasons. Sometimes the shopper claims that he never received the goods, or that the goods were defective in some way. Sometimes the transaction is reversed because a stolen card number was used to purchase goods.
You can lower the risk of chargebacks in a number of ways: the WorldPay Guarantee, for example, offers you financial protection against the costs of fraudulent transactions, and increases the level of guaranteed consumer protection you can offer your shoppers. You can protect your store with anti-fraud systems, like WorldAlert, or another third-party system. Occasionally, however, you will get chargebacks, and you should take account of this when making your financial calculations.
Chargeback pricing: due to the costs involved in reversing transactions, WorldPay will charge you €17.5 for every chargeback.

Even if you already have a merchant account from your bank for real world trading, you will still need a merchant account for the Internet. The types of credit and debit cards you can accept from shoppers, and the currencies your shoppers can use to buy from you, depend on your choice of Internet merchant account.
